I know it has been a while since I've updated things on my site, but I wanted to share some exciting news and updates!
First, my book proposal, titled Center Stage, has been accepted and will be published in 2023. This textbook, created with the support of The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI), is geared toward college-level theatre introduction courses. I'm so honored to have my textbook selected and I'm looking forward to working on this project over the next couple years!
The winter term is quickly moving towards it end. The Theatre Department has been working on a devised piece of theatre about Hanover College's history, titled Here on the Hill: Moments from the Archives, which has been a collaborative and enjoyable experience. It'll be ready to stream in a few days and I'm looking forward to sharing it on here soon.
Lastly, Lees-McRae Summer Theatre has been given the green light to go ahead with a smaller season, and I'm looking forward to returning to Banner Elk for the first time in over a year and a half. We've decided to postpone our productions of The Drowsy Chaperone and Matilda. While I'm sad I'll have to wait another year to direct Drowsy and be on stage as Trunchbull, I'm excited to be directing The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I directed it in 2017 and it was one of the best experiences I had in the theatre. I'm excited to do it again and reunite with some of my favorite people on this production!
I hope you all have been staying safe and healthy, and fingers crossed theatre is returning to your areas soon too! I've missed and I know you have too!
